Vehicle Graphics: The Process

Here is a Simple Step by Step Guide to the Process of Vehicle Graphics.

Number (1)

What is the Colour, Make, Model and Year of the Vehicle?

- This is so we can apply the Visuals to the correct Vehicle, We have all sizes and Vehicle Templates online so there is no Coming out to Measure or Size Guessing here at SC Signs.

 Number (2)

Do you have any Company Details, Existing Artwork? Logos? or Colours you Wish to Use?

- If you do we will incorporate your Logos but don't worry if you have not got anything yet, We will be happy to help with a basic Logo and Layout Design for your Branding. We also have some local Logo Designs which we will recommend to all Customers if thy wish to Pay for a Fantastic Logo.

Number (3) 

A visual will be sent over of the Vehicle Graphics on a Template along with a Quote. This is a starting point and we are open to discuss further suggestions and happy to make as many changes as it takes until you are happy before anything goes to print.

Number (4)

Once you are happy with the Visual and you would like us to Supply and Fit - We ask for a 50% Deposit up front, This is to secure your booking. We will arrange a date and time that is suitable to come and fit your Vehicle Graphics. We do offer a Mobile Fitting service but we ask that the Location and Conditions are suitable for us to do the work. (we are also Open by Appointment only during Weekends and Evenings) Once the work is Complete we ask for the other 50% of the Quote.

- Some people choose to pay all up front which is totally fine.

Your Vehicle Graphics will be Applied and we will of transformed your Blank Vehicle into a great cost effective way of Advertising on the move.

Donations & Sponsorships: Supporting Local Events & Charities

We often try to help with local events and charities in anyway we can - Sometimes this means Providing Banners, Printing TShirts or only charging for materials instead of our normal prices, we find this really helps when there is a small budget and we try and help as much as possible. Sadly we are not able to help on every occasion but will try our best and recently we have supplied and donated two PVC Printed Banners for the Reading Family Fun Day..

We were proud to be asked and are very proud to be able to sponsor such a great event.

SC Signs is a Small Business so funds are tight but we are always happy to try and help in anyway that we can. We also have on going contracts with several other local events which we supply Signage for and change the dates on them each year - We love working with the community and getting to know people and we also look forward to helping in our new local area since the move..

Good as New: Recycled Signage

Take a look at this up cycled, reused, refreshed, recycled Sign that we did  for Thatcham Tyre & Exhaust a few months ago - Doing our bit for the environment by re using an old sign and making it look as good as new. This is also great for those on a budget as using existing signage can cost less than completely new - If you have any old signs that you need to be refreshed then give us a shout and we would be happy to help.

This is also perfect if you have a re brand we can change to your new branding.

We took off the legs relocated them and then sprayed the sign and supplied it with a brand new front print making it look brand new and really stand out for the customer. Great results and the customer was very happy with the final product, hard to believe it is the same battered old sign.

Before throwing your sign away - Think about if it can be reused!

Replacement Graphics: Good as New

SC Signs works along side many well established  body shops to offer advice and replacement graphics onto any Vehicle that have had body work repair - This either includes colour match and cut graphics before fitting or applying graphics which have been either supplied by the company or supplied via the manufacture to make sure they are not cheap replicas. We will not produce certain graphics due to copy right unless we have written permission from the manufacture so often find it best to order them directly, on many occasions we have customers approach us and simply ask us for fitting when they simply do not feel confident to do it themselves - This includes the VXR Graphics above and also Roof Graphics for a mini. 

If required we also offer a removal service which means we can take off any old graphics before applying the new ones which is great way to give your vehicle a good as new look.

We have Moved: Chippenham, Wiltshire

SC Signs has Moved!!

I am sure most of you are aware that SC Signs is a Home Based Business and it was started in a spare room of my parents house in Thatcham, Berkshire many years ago but now We have got our own place in a beautiful little Village called Sutton Benger which is near Chippenham, Wiltshire.

It took a little while but we have now moved the office and all of our equipment into our new place and we will now be trading from the new house in Wiltshire, however we still have lots of local connections to Newbury and Thatcham so will be more than happy to continue all current contracts and provide signage and printed clothing to all existing customers.

SC Signs covers a 45 mile radius. We are in touch with another local sign company that will be taking on some of our existing customers that are slightly further afield but rest assured they are Fantastic and we are more than confident that they will be able to help where we are unable too.

Here is a little look into our Home Based Office and Work Space. 

It is now Business as usual - We are busy making signs, applying vehicle graphics, printing flyers and meeting with potential new customers in the area aswell as sending out some emails and handing out flyers. We really hope that Business continues to grow at this new and exciting time.

We have been very busy over the last few months and have been lucky enough to take on some new contracts as well as meeting lots of great new customers. Recently we have been away on a short Holiday to Poole in Dorset which means all messages, voicemails and orders were put on hold - We are now working extremely hard to get back to everyone as soon as we can and want to thank you for being so understanding. I wanted to show some examples of recent Vehicle Graphics.

SC Signs: New Logo

SC Signs has a new Logo - Over the last 2 years we have tweaked and changed our Logo until now when we think we have got it exactly right. When SC Signs was created it was all very rushed due to the situation we needed a logo and at the time we loved it and thought it was perfect but as time when on we thought it looked a little busy and the most important part of any logo is to be clear and to the point - After being confused as SG Signs we decided it was something we had to look into.

Then came the second version of the Logo (which was short lived but was very easy to print and create in vinyl) We got rid of some splat surrounds and made it look like SC was written into paint almost and it worked for a short while until I realised I was missing the point. The most important point here was SIGNS we do SIGNS and even though we also do clothing this was not the most important point to get across so we decided to get rid of the word clothing.

Second Edition

Since we were in the middle of moving we thought now is the time for Change. I spent some time flicking threw fonts and putting together a variation of designs and then suddenly it all came together. I hope you will agree our most recent and long term logo is much easier to read - Sometimes plain and simple is the answer with the right mix of colours and words it can be very effective.

Brand New Logo

We have already had lots of fantastic comments about the new logo - A logo is very important when it comes to Business and Branding. We don't recommend a constant logo change but you will probably notice ours has been similar enough not to cause confusion meaning our branding has been fairly consistent. When working on a Customer logo or artwork this is exactly why we provide visuals and send several emails back and forth to make sure your happy before any work goes ahead - Sadly since I do them myself I had no back and forth email to chop and change until I was truly happy so it has taken a couple of years to be truly happy with a fresh clean logo. 

Remember when choosing a logo make sure your important bits stand out - Then people can see exactly what you do at ease without any confusion. Take a look around at some of the big brands and see how simple yet effective the majority of their Logos are - A good logo: Simple, Memorable, Timeless, Appropriate and Versatile.

We got approached by Indulge Hair & Beauty and were happy to supply new signage all round and in time for their grand opening - We worked with the customer to come up with a classy design and range of signage that would complete the look at the new shop and stand out to customers. We did a range of Interior & Exterior signage aswell as Wall Art, Frosted Glass and Window Graphics.

Recent Work: Week 15th - 22nd February

We have had a busy week here at SC Signs - Fighting against the Wind and Rain to get everything finished. We have really enjoyed meeting lots of new people and had lots of new emails from customers saying that they have been recommended to us which is fantastic. Thank you to everyone that does recommend us! This week has mainly consisted of lots of Wall Art and Vehicle Signage - Sadly the work Laptop (that is 3 months old) has been sent off for repair after it failed to boot so slight delay regarding Designs.

Lazy: Much Needed Update

We really need to make time to keep our Blog up to date - So here is a catch up post to let everybody know what we have been upto in the last year. It has now been over a year since we started SC Signs & Clothing and we cannot believe how supportive everybody has been and we have come so far in our first 12 months so firstly I want to say a great big thank you for supporting our small home based Business. We have met many fantastic people and look forward to working with them in 2014 aswell! In 2013 we decided to get ourselves a work Van and it was a great idea - It also proved to us just how well Vehicle Signage works as people often give us a ring and tell us they spotted the Van.

We attended Car Shows alongside Southern Car Community which was a great opportunity to meet new people and advertise what we do. at Trax (Silverstone) we also had a great time meeting new people and getting everybody to pose whilst holding our Show Plate. The Show Plate was originally purchased in order to keep Customers number plates private when photographing them after applying graphics. It was however great fun to see so many people getting involved and having pictures taken.

Even though we are a fairly new Business we managed to get some fantastic companies on our Books and worked really hard to make connections and work with even some of the larger named local companies - It was nice to see people willing to give us a chance even in our first year. In 2013 we also spent alot of time advertising and handing out flyers which resulted in lots of enquiries and it really does help to get your name out there.  I will now share some photos of work we have completed.

Window Graphics

We have been really busy recently - I have not had much chance to blog.

I wanted to mention this one though, it was our first colourful window display.

We really enjoyed this project and I think it turned out really great!

Van Signage

I often have people ask me if it is worth getting a Van Sign written - of course I am going to say YES but with very good reason. If you drive around in a plain van you could be anyone, nobody would pay attention and you would be almost invisible to such a huge amount of potential costumers. If your van earns you a living then why not let it advertise you every second of the day!

Even when your parked up getting shopping your advertising and as I am sure you are aware it costs a fortune to advertise in local papers or online so why not invest that money and pay to get your details on display everywhere you go and for aslong as you have the van rather than having to pay a monthly listing fee to have a little tiny advert somewhere. 

Another thing to think about is when approaching people and turning up at current Jobs. You want to look professional and make your customers feel at ease, a Van is almost like your ID Card it lets people know who you are straight away and that gives them trust. If you use your van as part time Business transport then I suggest some Magnetic Signs they can be put on for a Job then removed after so it gives you an alternative if you don't want something permanent on your vehicle. 

Some people may think Van Signing is Expensive but we offer great prices and to be honest with the amount of coverage and advertising it will give you it is well worth it and will potentially bring you extra work covering the cost of the signing anyway. So it's a big YES from me.

We do a wide range of Beautiful Wall Art for the home. We also use a specialist vinyl that can easily be removed and is much more delicate to the paint work than standard vinyl - Of course we can still do Wall Art with the standard vinyl if you are worried that it may fall off or if you have a little one that would try to pick it off. Printed Clothing: Recent Work

SC Signs & Clothing have been very busy recently. In fact we have been run off out feet with Clothing orders. We spent a whole evening getting all Clothing orders all ready, printed and packed for Customers. We really enjoy seeing the items come together from Design to Print. I really like the Multi-Hands logo and think it looks fantastic, the logo was provided by the customer we just used our state of the art design software to trace it and get it ready for print. We also printed some stuff for a local car club, inflatarama a fitness boot camp and some other local companies. 

For the Silver Servers 1-2-1 Hoody we used a Blue Chrome vinyl. Something that we had never used before but we knew that it would look fantastic after speaking to the customer - we thought it would look fantastic and we were right. The way it catches the light looks amazing and we are glad that our customers are as happy as we are. We have also been busy printing and getting things ready for a busy weekend of signing.
